What is Wu Yiling's Net Worth?

Wu Yiling is a Chinese businessman who has a net worth of $1.6 billion. Wu Yiling earned a place among China's billionaires thanks to his Shenzhen-listed herbal medicine maker Shijiazhuang Yiling Pharmaceutical, which mainly produces drugs used to treat heart disease and the flu. A medical doctor by profession, he practiced Chinese medicine for some eleven years before founding Yiling Pharmaceutical in 1992. Wu Yiling saw a notable rise in his net worth after Yiling's first-half sales rose by two-thirds to $189 million.

The boost in sales was assisted in part by shipments of a drug that was on the government's list of approved treatments for the H7N9 bird flu that broke out in April. Furthermore, the parent company of the Hebei Yiling Pharmaceutical Group owns the Hebei Yiling Hospital in Shijiazhuang city in Hebei Province. Wu Yiling's two children are also actively involved in the business: his son Wu Xiangjun, who holds degrees in business and Chinese medicine, is a vice president; whereas his daughter Wu Rui, who holds a law degree, is a deputy general manager.
