Peter Gadsby is an English property developer and avid Derby County fan who has a net worth of $160 million. Gadsby bought out the Derby County football club in 2006 and has since focused on restructuring the club. With a wall of disappointment, the only acquisition Gadsby could successfully note was the addition of striker Paul Peschisolido. Billy Davies was later added as the new club manager, and focus was shifted to the risen debt of the club.

The Pride Park Stadium was reassigned as the club's home, and Steve Howard was later signed to the team, marking their first major signing since 2000. Gadsby is known to have been chairman at Miller Birsch and Cedar House Investments with whom he is heading a development project for the Sunlight Laundry site in Nottingham's Colwick district. This will be the forefront of Nottingham's "Waterside Regeneration Zone," which is rumored to consist of a new stadium serving as home to football, rugby, and hockey clubs.
