In 2008, McBride voiced Miss Sutley / Elder Pearo in the computer-animated film "Delgo," and she co-starred with Harry Connick, Jr. and Angie Harmon in the Lifetime movie "Living Proof." When Frank Darabont began developing "The Walking Dead," which is based on the Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard comic book series of the same name, he offered Melissa the role of mother and abused wife Carol Peletier.
