Personal Life

Lea married Roy Black on October 7, 1994. The two met when Lea was a juror in the 1991 William Kennedy Smith trial, and they ran into each other nine months later, after Roy had separated from his second wife. He asked Lea to dinner, and though she was in a relationship with Al Perkins, a business associate, she accepted, thinking they were "going to reminisce about the trial." Six months later, Lea broke up with Perkins and began a relationship with Roy.

The couple has a son, RJ, who has appeared on "The Real Housewives of Miami," and Lea is stepmother to Nora, Roy's daughter from his marriage to Naomi Morris Black.

Since 1992, Lea and Roy have hosted the charity event The Black's Annual Gala and have raised millions of dollars to help the youths that are involved with Lea's nonprofit organization, The Consequences Charity. The charity's purpose is to "empower at-risk youth through education, after-school activities, counseling, and intervention."
