What is Eliodoro Matte's Net Worth?

Eliodoro Matte is a Chilean businessman who has a net worth of $2.6 billion. Eliodoro Matte is best known as president and shareholder of CMPC, Chile's largest pulp and paper producer. Along with his two billionaire siblings, he inherited a stake from their late father Eliodoro Matte Ossa, who set up the company. Eliodoro Matte served as President of five of Grupo CMPC's holdings until 2011 when he stepped down from the post to take over the leadership of Empresas CMPC, the holding company.

The Matte brothers also hold stakes in some other telecom, banking and shipping firms. Matte saw a major decline of $1.2 billion over the last year as CMPC's stock dropped. The slump was inevitable since the company relies heavily on trade with China as a commodities exporter and there the growth has been slowing.
