Early Life
Adrienne Bailon was born Adrienne Eliza Bailon on October 24, 1983, in Manhattan, New York. She is the daughter of a Puerto Rican mother, Nilda Alicea, and an Ecuadorian father, Freddie Bailon. Her parents divorced, and she was raised in the Lower East Side of Manhattan by her mother and stepfather, Joe Felix. Adrienne attended PS 110-The Monitor in Brooklyn and then the High School for Health Professions and Human Services but ended up not pursuing a career in the medical field because of her passion for music.

3LW
In 1999, Bailon was performing as part of a church choir at Madison Square Garden and was discovered by Ricky Martin. She became a backup singer for his "Livin' la Vida Loca Tour" concert. Following her performance, she became a member of 3LW, a hip-hop soul girl group that was signed to Epic Records. The other two members of the group were Kiely Williams and Naturi Naughton. They began work on their debut album in 1999.
Their first single, "No More (Baby I'ma Do Right)" was released in the fall of 2000. "No More" was a chart success and was followed by another charting success with "Playas Gon' Play" in early 2001. The group released three studio albums, and their debut album, "3LW," was certified platinum and sold over a million copies in the United States. In the summer of 2001, the group embarked on their MTV "Total Request Live" tour along with an all-star lineup of Destiny's Child, Nelly, Eve, and Jessica Simpson. After a heated argument in 2002, Naturi Naughton announced she was no longer a member of the group. Williams and Bailon continued as a duo.

The Cheetah Girls
While working on their fourth album, Bailon and Williams signed on to star in the Disney Channel film "The Cheetah Girls." They starred as two of four members of a female girl group named after the film, with Raven-Symone and Sabrina Bryan portraying the other two members. The film was released in August 2003 and was a ratings hit. The soundtrack for the film debuted at #33 on the "Billboard" 200 and was later certified 2x Platinum. Bailon also had a supporting role on Disney's "That's So Raven." The Cheetah Girls later returned to film the sequel to the film, which premiered on August 25, 2006. It brought a total of 8.1 million viewers and was the highest-rated Disney Channel original movie, beating the premiere of the first of the "High School Musical" films. The Cheetah Girls began working on a studio album in January 2006. Meanwhile, 3LW kept working on their fourth studio album, "Point of No Return," but it was never released. Bailon and Williams then decided to pursue the Cheetah Girls franchise full-time and leave 3LW behind.
They then set to work on the third film in the Cheetah Girls franchise: "The Cheetah Girls: One World." The film was shot in India and the plot revolved around the Cheetah Girls going to star in a Bollywood production. It premiered to over 7 million viewers. After that, the Cheetah Girls broke up in 2008.

Other Work
Bailon was signed to Island Def Jam Records as a solo artist and began working on her first solo studio album. She then began dating Rob Kardashian, and while dating him, she appeared in eight episodes of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians." That same year, she hosted the MTV New Year's show from Times Square and began hosting "New Afternoons on MTV," moving to New York City for the steady gig. In 2012, Adrienne announced that she would be a part of the reality show "Empire Girls: Julissa and Adrienne." The show premiered on June 3, 2012, but only lasted one season despite being a ratings success for the Style Network. Later that year, she appeared in the music video for Pitbull's "Give Me Everything." In 2014, Bailon became the host of a competitive reality show called "Nail'd It!" on Oxygen. It was canceled after one season.
Since 2013, Adrienne has served as a co-host for the daytime talk show "The Real." In 2018, she and her co-hosts won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host for their work. On January 26, 2015, Bailon announced on "The Real" the reason why she had not released her debut solo album at that point. Bailon and Rob Kardashian dated from 2007 to 2009, after which it was revealed that they broke up because he cheated on her. On February 5, 2015, Adrienne announced on Instagram and on an episode of "The Real" that she was engaged to her boyfriend of six years, Lenny Santiago, a music executive at Jay-Z's Roc Nation label. In September 2015, they called off their engagement. Bailon got engaged to musician Israel Houghton in August 2016 after six months of dating. They married in Paris on November 11, 2016. Adrienne then became the stepmother to Israel's four children from his previous marriage.
